M06 Open Studio: Ecobrick Design Challenge

Fri, 1 March, 2024 2:00pm - 5:00pm

Team up with your peers to design and build an architectural form or piece of furniture using ecobricks made from locally sourced, clean plastic waste. The Innovation Center community has been making ecobricks for over a year as part of their zero-waste policy. The challenge progresses over two consecutive Friday afternoons, emphasizing design and prototyping on Feb 23 and fabrication on March 1. Community partners are encouraged! Participants will be offered space to complete their projects at the Innovation Center as needed. The challenge will be juried, and prizes awarded.

Sponsored by the GW Innovation Center, Sustainable GW, and academic partners, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Corcoran Departments of Exhibition Design and Interior Architecture.
