Prof. Michael Keidar (MAE) and his graduate students Joseph Lukas, George Teel, and Jonathan Kolbeck have published a paper that describes the novel idea of high-efficiency micro propulsion for nano satellites. Prof. Ekundayo Shittu (EMSE) recently published the following paper: E. Shittu, M. Harnly, S. Whitaker and R. Conferences & Presentations:
Prof. Claire Monteleoni (CS) is attending AAAI 2016 this week, where she is serving as co-chair of the Special Track on Computational Sustainability and as a session chair for the track. She also is serving as an invited mentor to the conference's Breakfast with Champions: A Women's Mentoring Event. AAAI 2016 is one of the top two international conferences in the field of artificial intelligence.
Prof. Martha Pardavi-Horvath (ECE) and co-authors Robert McMichael (NIST) and Elena Tartakovskaya (Institute of Magnetism NAS , Ukraine) presented a talk titled “Localized spin wave modes in parabolic field traps” at the at Joint MMM-INTERMAG 2016, held January 11-15 in San Diego, CA.

Prof. Martha Pardavi-Horvath (ECE) has been invited to serve on the Advisory Committee of the 21st International Conference on Magnetism ( ICM2018), to be held July 15-20, 2018 in San Francisco, CA.

Nominate someone for the 2016 GW Engineering Hall of Fame. Since 2006, SEAS has honored distinguished SEAS alumni, faculty, staff, and friends who have contributed to engineering, technology, or management in a sustained and significant way during their careers. These are individuals who bring distinction to GW through their achievements and their contributions to their professions, the University, and society-at-large. Last year's honorees included alumni from NASA, Office of Naval Research, CAE Inc., LGS Innovations, DLBA, Rolls Royce, and Johns Hopkins University. The deadline for consideration is Thursday, March 31.

Entrepreneurship Events
In February, the DC I-Corps team at GW will offer an intense two-week introduction to I-Corps course. This free course introduces participants to the concepts of lean start-up and customer discovery, and helps researchers and entrepreneurs explore the market potential for their early stage innovations. It is a great opportunity for GW faculty and students interested in learning more about commercializing a technology and building a business model. Successful completion of this course qualifies participants to apply for the seven-week national I-Corps program in which accepted teams are awarded $50,000 grants from the National Science Foundation. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis so apply soon!

His expertise is developing and implementing go-to-market plans that exceed time-to-revenue metrics. He leads assignments ranging from commercializing intellectual property for startups at the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins to product positions for public companies. In this workshop, Mr. Rogers focuses on how to create the single page financial model of your business. It is simple arithmetic; any formal financial training will just get in the way.
