Live and Learn in DC

Engineering and computer science are rigorous academic programs, and SEAS students spend untold hours studying for their courses, but when they do have free time, they love to explore Washington, DC, and “live and learn” in their home away from home.

With DC as a backdrop, students explore:

  • arts & culture
  • attractions
  • embassies
  • US Capitol and White House
  • monuments & memorials
  • museums
  • theater
  • waterfront activities

We polled our SEAS student mentors and learned some of their favorite DC activities:

  • running on the National Mall
  • touring the Monuments
  • visiting the Tidal Basin
  • going to Georgetown restaurants and, particularly, Georgetown Cupcakes
  • hiking, biking, and rock climbing on the weekends
  • taking pictures of DC
