Dr. Hemley awarded $555K to direct DOE Center of Excellence

Dr. Russell Hemley was awarded $555,661 from the Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) for research, training, and management of the Capital/DOE Alliance Center (CDAC) through February 28, 2018.  CDAC is a Center of Excellence for Materials Science funded by the Stewardship Science Academic Alliances Program of the DOE/NNSA.  Dr. Hemley, a research professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, is the director of CDAC, which comprises research groups at 15 other academic institutions and five DOE national laboratories.
