SEAS is pleased to host Dr. David Bray, globally recognized champion of positive #ChangeAgents and expert on leadership in turbulent environments, to deliver the inaugural lecture of the CVP Speakers Series @ GW.

Dr. Bray’s keynote—titled “Needed Now More Than Ever: Positive #ChangeAgents across Sectors”—will focus on why and how we all can be change agents in our rapidly changing world, while highlighting meaningful multi-sector strategies for delivering results differently and better.

Currently , Dr. David Bray is executive director of People-Centered Internet Coalition, founded by Internet co-creator Vint Cerf; a visiting executive-in-residence at Harvard, Oxford, and Singularity Universities; and chief strategy officer of MapLarge.  Business Insider identified him as one of the top “24 Americans Who Are Changing the World” under 40 by in 2016.

Dr. Bray has served in different positive #ChangeAgent capacities, including leading the technology response for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Program to 9/11, anthrax in 2001, SARS and monkeypox in 2003, and other outbreaks.

He was also a senior strategic advisor in Afghanistan in 2009, helping to “think differently” on military and humanitarian efforts in the region; executive director for the National Commission for the Review of the Research and Development Programs of the U.S. Intelligence Community; and chief information officer for the FCC from 2013-2017.  During his tenure with the FCC, he led a team to receive the Global CIO 100 award—which is usually reserved for Fortune 500 companies—in both 2015 and 2017.
