Professor Chunlei Liang develops efficient, robust, and high-order accurate unstructured-grid methods for solving both incompressible and compressible Navier-Stokes equations on moving, deforming, and sliding domains  and is interested in parallel algorithms for computational fluid and solid mechanics. The applications of his research include flapping wing flight, marine propulsion, turbulent convection in the sun, heat transfer with tube bundles, vegetated river flow, fluid-structure interaction of human heart valves, arterial stenoses, and non-premixed combustion.
