Deanah McLeod

Deanah McLeod is the assistant vice president for development and alumni relations in the SEAS Office of Development and Alumni Relations. In this role she works closely with SEAS alumni nationally to connect them with philanthropic initiatives throughout SEAS. Deanah brings more than nine years of development experience to this role, having experience in major gifts, corporate, foundation and government relations, and sponsored research.  She has worked within diverse sectors including higher education, youth development, and social service organizations. Deanah is a double graduate of Pace University and holds a dual degree MBA in international business and marketing management, and a bachelor of arts in communications.

Buthaina Shukri

Buthaina Shukri has a 20-year career in higher education spanning leadership positions in career services, marketing, alumni relations, and development.  Before joining the SEAS Development team,  she was the SEAS alumni relations officer (2012-2015) and before that the director of the GW Career Center's employer partnerships team (2007-2012). Buthaina spent 11 years at the University of Baltimore as the director of their career center and later as the law school's publications manager. In her current role, Buthaina works with alumni in the DC Metro area, the West Coast, and the Southwest interested in supporting philanthropic initiatives to support SEAS.

Buthaina received a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish and English from Union College, a master of education degree from Boston University in counseling, and a master of science degree in applied psychology from the University of Baltimore. She's a  PMP (Project Management Professional) and is Myers-Briggs qualified. She volunteers on behalf of her alma mater, specifically for Union's ReUnion program and field hockey and lacrosse teams.

Durriyyah Johnson

Durriyyah Johnson is the board manager for the SEAS National Advisory Council (NAC). In this role, she liaises closely with the NAC chairman and members, and the dean of School to facilitate engagement internally and with external community partners. Previously the executive associate in the SEAS Office of Development and Alumni Relations, she assisted the assistant vice president in coordinating all administrative duties. Her daily responsibilities require interaction with multiple offices throughout the university. Durriyyah is a native Washingtonian and spent five years living in Germany. She is glad to have returned to GW, her alma mater, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in German language and literature.

Antoinette Griffin

Antoinette Griffin is a native Washingtonian and has more than 25 years of combined experience working in corporate America, higher education, and the public school system.  Antoinette is responsible for providing administrative assistance to the assistant vice president of Development and Alumni Relations, and the senior associate director of development at SEAS.  Before coming to George Washington University, she worked as a business support analyst for Dell Corporation, and prior to that as a budget analyst at Howard University for the Division of Allied Health Sciences Office of the Associate Dean.  She also worked as a donor relations coordinator within Howard University’s Division of University Advancement.  Antoinette received her business management degree from Southeastern University, in Washington, D.C.
