Interests

My research interests are in the general area of communication networks. The modeling and analysis of networks, and network architectures and algorithms are the general themes of my research. My focus for the last several years has been on optical networks and more recently on ad hoc wireless networks as well. Some of the recent topics I have worked on are:

Optical Networks

Grants

I am currently supported by the following grants.

bullet"Cross-layer design and management of translucent optical networks" (in collaboration with M. Brandt-Pearce of Univ. of Virginia). Funded by NSF for the period 9/1/2005 - 8/31/2008.
bullet"Evolutionary architectures for ultra-broadband access networks" (in collaboration with A. Somani of Iowa State University and S. Ramasubramanian of Univ. of Arizona). Funded by NSF for the period 9/1/2004 - 8/31/2008.
