The EE 169 GTA's are:


Week 1:

Monday: Review of diodes, BJT's and FET's: I-V characteristics, small-signal models, etc.
Wednesday: BJT based differential amplifier.
EE 169: Introduction.


Week 2:

Monday: Martin Luther King Holiday.
Wednesday: Differential Amplifiers
EE 169: Experiment 1: P-Spice PCB


Week 3:

Monday: BJT and MOS basic current sources.
Wednesday: Finish current mirrors; active loaded amplifiers.
EE 169: Experiment 2: Triac, SCR, Opto-isolator, etc.

Week 4:

Monday: High frequency model of MOSFET and BJT.
Wednesday: CMOS op-amp example; Frequency Response of Common Source MOSFET Amplifier.
EE 169: Experiment 3: Switching power supply.


Week 5:

Monday: High-frequency response; CC-CE cascade
Wednesday: Open circuit time constants and dominant pole approximation.
EE 169: Experiment 4P (Design Project I): Based on combining the above experiments.


Week 6: Hand in Homework #1

Monday: Washington's Birthday.
Wednesday: High frequency response of common base, cascode, common-collector configurations.
EE 169: Presentation of Design Project I and Experiment 5: Differential amplifier, current sources, etc.

Week 7:

Monday: High-freq. response of dif-amps; Conclude high-frequency response.
Wednesday: Low-frequency response and short circuit time constants.
EE 169: Experiment 5 (continued from previous week).

Week 8:

Monday: Start feedback; motivation; 4 feedback topologies.
Wednesday: Quiz 1- Differential Amplifiers and current sources.
EE 169: Experiment 6: Frequency response of cascode amplifier.


Week 9:

Monday: Return Quiz #1 and H.W. #1.
Wednesday: Examples of feedback circuits.
EE 169: Experiment 7: Active Filters.

Week 10: Spring Break - No Classes


Week 11:

Monday: Solve feedback examples: shunt-shunt and shunt-series.
Wednesday: Output stages; Class A, B and AB amplifiers.
EE 169: Experiment 7 (continued from previous session).


Week 12:

Monday: Rose Garden Lecture: Announced the final project for EE 169: AM Receiver.
Wednesday: AM modulation, multipliers, envelope detectors.
EE 169: Experiment 8: Output stages.

Week 13:

Monday: Handout for AM peak detector; attend Colloquium
Wednesday: SEAS Expo at VA Campus - Class canceled
EE 169: Experiment 9P (Design Project II): Audio amplifier.


Week 14:

Monday: Project review .
Wednesday: Project and homework review in the lab.
EE 169: Experiment 10: Oscillator design - cancelled; maybe incorporated into the Final Design Project if necessary.


Week 15:

Monday: Quiz 2 Review
Wednesday: Quiz 2 - 2 problems on Chapter 7 (Frequency Response)-1 extra credit problem on Chapter 8 (Feedback).
EE 169: Final Project.

Week 16:

Monday:
Wednesday: H.W. 2 due. Review for Final - Last Day of Classes
