1) Browse or search the Internet to find a webpage or research paper about a cutting edge, new network technology that you think is cool. 

2) Signup for the cs184-2004@hermes.gwu.edu email list.

3) Once you have picked your technology, email the webpage URL or a PDF of the research paper to the cs184-2004 email list.

4) Write a 1 page memo about the technology. It must contain both:
   * 1/2 page describing the technology so a CS major could understand it 
     without reading the original source document.
   * 1/2 page analysis of the impact you think the technology will have, 
     why you think so and why you think it is cool.

The goal here it to see what you think is interesting, and to force you to summarize and argue succinctly.

The essay is due Friday Jan 16th at 4pm by email to jstanton@gwu.edu.
