Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education alone will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
- Calvin Coolidge

I received my PhD. from Boston University under the direction of Professor Richard West. Since then, I have moved to the nation's capital and am a faculty member in the Computer Science department of The George Washington University.

When away from computers, I run, cycle, dance (lindy, blues, and a little tango), and generally spend time with Kim. I also have a deep and pervasive interest in philosophical issues, especially those concerning morality. I'm always eager to discuss economics.
