Making More out of Mac OS X

I became a Mac user again after their OS became Unix. While I like the user interface, I have found suggestions from others that help mitigate some of the small "clunky" things I don't like about it. This is just my personal list, but you may find some of them useful.

AP Grapher
WiFi Signal Grapher. Plots the signall strength of a WiFi connection over time.

MacStumbler
WiFi Network Finder. Announces when a WiFi-enabled machine comes into range of a WiFi network. Great for WAPDriving.

TinkerTool
Mac OS X tweaking tool. Offers advanced features for configuring your interface.

Version Tracker
Good list of shareware programs for the Mac.

SideTrack
PowerBook touchpad driver. Allows you to use the right (or left) edge of the trackpad on your PowerBook to control a scrollbar.

ChangeDesktop
Great, flexible application to manage the display of pictures on your desktop.

SMARTReporter
Monitors and displays the S.M.A.R.T. status of your hard drives.
