On November 11, 2000, 13 teams from 7 schools competed at Johns Hopkins University for the Mid-Atlantic Regional competition. There were a total of 139 teams from 65 schools competing at 7 sites in the Regionals on that date.
The prize was a chance to be one of 65 teams to compete at the International Finals March 7-11, 2001 in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
GW fielded two teams: GW1 & GW2. GW1 consisted of Justin Cutler, Chad Parry, and Peter Swanson, all senior CS majors. There were two alternates: Howard Sherman, Junior in CS, and Naveen Ahuja, Junior in Computer Engineering. Both teams were coached by Prof. Robert W. Lindeman of the Department of Computer Science.
