The following is a list of conferences, events, and meetings that will
take place after March 1 concerning emergency management. These events
highlight the types of issues currently being addressed in emergency management.

DESCRIPTION: A combination of workshops and sessions designed
to address the role and responsibility of the volunteer organization in
times of disaster and recovery.

TITLE / SPONSOR: “Lessons Learned in Emergencies: Not Your Ordinary
Disaster Conference” by the National Archives
LOCATION / DATE: College Park, MD on March 21
DESCRIPTION: The conference will bring together archivists, librarians,
and conservators to discuss the practical aspects of disaster prevention
and mitigation.

TITLE / SPONSOR: “Conference on Contingency Planning, Business
Continuation and Disaster Recovery using Telecommunications” by the International
Disaster Recovery Association (IDRA).
LOCATION / DATE: West Springfield, MA on March 24 through March
27.
DESCRIPTION: All presentations relate to telecommunications disaster
recovery, business continuation and contingency planning. Since 1990 it
has been the first and only conference dedicated to Telecom DRP.
Each year IDRA assembles experts from the field to speak on the latest
information regarding Telecom DRP.
