Final
Project - Audio Amplifier
Your assignment is to
design, test and
demonstrate a simple audio amplifier whose specifications are as follows:
Specifications:
-
The power supply is
+/- 12 Vdc.
-
One line input.
-
The load is a 8 Ohm
speaker.
-
Voltage gain of at least
10 V/V over the frequency range specified for each student. (See
attachment)
-
No major distortion
over the frequency range.
-
One master volume control.
-
LED Display with at
least 3 levels at the output:
-
Level 1: 0.4 V and above
-
Level 2: 0.8 V and above
-
Level 3: 1.2 V and above
-
Treble and base controls.
Bonus Points:
Additional bonus prizes are available
for those designs who not only meet the specs. but also impress the class.
All engineers who are interested in additional points must highlight and
document the innovative features of their circuits. These features include
but are not limited to the following:
-
high output power level > 10 Watt.
-
good audio fidelity.
-
microphone channel.
-
frequency equalizers.
Due Date:
Thursday/Wednesday,
Dec 2/3, 2003 in labs
Requirements:
You are required to have a:
-
Professional project report and
hand it in prior to your presentation. Three sample reports (in PDF)
are posted on ECE 11 web site (under handouts
section) for your reference. The format for the report can be
viewed here.
-
10 minute presentation with 5 minute question
and answer period. All presentations must be done with Power Point.
Two sample of Power Point presentation are also posted under the handouts
section of ECE11 web site.
-
Complete working circuit demonstration and
explanation of features.
