Ms. Singh completed
her doctoral degree requirements in Systems Engineering in May 2007
at the George Washington University, Washington DC under Dr. René
van Dorp. Her research involved studying
and modelling leptokurtic behavior in financial data. She was also
a member of Dr van Dorp’s research team, funded by his National
Science Foundation Grant "Speaking the Truth in Maritime Risk Assessment".
The Maritime Risk Assessment model has been presented in journal papers
and at INFORMS conferences.
Previously, Ms Singh
was with Caminus Corporation’s Strategic Consulting team (now
Sungard Energy) in New York where she advised clients on business opportunities
and risk management practices in the North American Electricity markets.
Before joining Caminus, she worked with the Wholesale Power group at
ICF Consulting where she led the development team on electricity price
forecasting and portfolio valuation models.
Ms. Singh holds
a Master’s degree in Operations Research and a Bachelor’s
degree in Mathematics.
Currently, Ms. Singh
holds a research position at LMI.
