Michael G. Bruce
Mike Bruce is the Vice President of Sales at SevenSpace, an application-level managed service provider. In this role, he is responsible for all revenue-generating activity and has primary oversight of their five North American offices. Mike Bruce began his career at Bell Communications Research in seventh grade and continued through high school as Bellcore’s youngest full-time intern. He developed software in support of alternative telecom services (call waiting, three-way calling, etc.) and commercial toll-free services.
His undergraduate career wound through the Aerospace department of MIT, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s Computer Science program. Following a short-term analyst position at American Management Systems, he pursued a Master’s degree from the prestigious Information Networking Institute (INI) of Carnegie Mellon University. His thesis was entitled: The Internet Agility / Maturity Model (IA/MM): A Strategic Framework for Software Companies on the Net.
Upon graduation, Mike joined DIDAX INC. (now Crosswalk.com) as their Director of Technical Marketing. He led the repositioning of the company from a private label ISP to a virtual community portal, architecting its technology process and branding strategy. Shortly thereafter, Mike was named Director of Marketing and New Ventures, becoming the company’s principal Internet spokesperson to the Board of Directors, investors, and the financial community. He teamed with DIDAX’s CEO to present their roadshow pitch nationwide, en route to a successful public offering (NASDAQ: AMEN).
Most recently, Mike was the President, CEO, and co-founder of SingleShop,
an e-commerce application service provider that delivered advanced online shopping capabilities
to media companies and web-based communities. SingleShop was financed by angel, venture, and institutional
investors including Draper Atlantic, Columbia Capital, Merrill Lynch Ventures, and Tim Draper.
Mike received notable press upon winning the PTEK Venture’s sponsored Million Dollar Challenge
at
Red Herring’s regional venture conference.
Mike sits on the board of various academic and community boards including the George W. Bush IT
National Steering Committee, Carnegie Mellon Dean’s Leadership Council, and the Ambleside School Board of Trustees.
