John E. Bischoff



John E. Bischoff is the former Vice President of Finance and Operations for America Online, Inc. responsible for planning resources for the majority of the technology-related organizations of the Company. Mr. Bischoff was responsible for coordinating the development and management budget of more than $3 billion for the AOL service and its related software development activities.

In addition to planning and managing headcount, equipment and space for more than 3000 employees who are distributed nationwide, Mr. Bischoff managed the unique financial challenges of communications surcharge and licensing revenue, capitalization and amortization of internally developed software, hardware leasing, international invoicing and support and cross-brand P&L responsibility.

Mr. Bischoff was with America Online from 1994 - 2001 and was responsible for the Internal Computing function for the Company, operationally managed employee hyper-growth from 400 to 3,000 and established the technology purchasing and contract administration functions for AOL.

Before joining the Company, Mr. Bischoff was with International Business Machines (IBM) for almost 30 years and held several management positions. During his tenure at IBM, Mr. Bischoff was responsible for planning finance, managing resources, facility operations and computer and internal data centers at the Computer Science departments of IBM Research at Watson Labs, the IBM internal data center at Hawthorne, New York and other branch offices of IBM.

Since 1998 to present, Mr. Bischoff has also been an Adjunct Faculty member at the Northern Virginia Community College at the Loudoun County campus teaching Finance and Information Technology. From 1966 - 1968, prior to joining IBM, Mr. Bischoff served in the United States Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal Infantry Company.

Mr. Bischoff holds an Associates of Applied Science in Accounting from Westchester Community College and a Bachelors of Business Administration from Pace University. Additionally, Mr. Bischoff holds an MBA in Finance from Long Island University and a Masters of Science in Telecommunications and Computing Management from the Polytechnic University in New York.

Mr. Bischoff is also a member of several organizations including The George Washington University Virginia Campus Advisory Board, Institute of Management Accountants, IEEE, Board of Shenandoah University and the Loudoun County United Way. Additionally, Mr. Bischoff has publicly presented at several conferences including the Buyer-Xpert Conference and the International Facilities Management Association conference and published papers for the IEEE Engineering Management Conference on "Procurement at Internet Speed".

Mr. Bischoff resides with his family in Sterling, Virginia.
