Prof. Chunlei Liang
Professor Liang is an Assistant Professor of Engineering and Applied Science. He is also an Assistant Professor of Mathematics by a courtesy appointment. Professor Liang earned his Ph.D. from University of London in 2005 advised by Dr. George Papadakis and Prof. Michael Yianneskis . Prior to joining GW, he conducted three years postdoctoral research in Stanford University under the directions of Professor Antony Jameson and Professor Parviz Moin. Dr. Liang is an associate fellow of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and a board member of Computers and Fluids, an Elsevier journal. His research interests are developing numerical solvers for both incompressible and compressible flows and modeling and simulation of real-world challenging fluid flow problems through massively parallel computing.Professor Liang earned degrees including a Bachelor of Engineering and a Minor of English from Xi'an Jiaotong University at the age of 20. He began learning numerical methods from Prof. Wenquan Tao.
For graduate school education, Chunlei studied and lived in Hong Kong and London where he became a fan of both snooker and soccer. Outside work, Chunlei enjoys spending time with his two sons, and playing Table Tennis.
