SEAS Alumnus Bill Westenhofer Nominated for Academy Award
The Academy for Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced its nominees for the annual Academy Awards this morning, and among those nominated was SEAS alumnus Bill Westenhofer (MS '95).
Westenhofer is the visual supervisor on the team that created the visual effects for the recently released movie, “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.” Westenhofer and his team are among three teams nominated for the Academy’s Achievement in Visual Effects Award for 2005. Westenhofer, who studied the use of dynamics in physically based animation as a student in the Department of Computer Science, has worked on a number of other films, including: “Elf,” “The Rundown,” “Men in Black 2,” "Cats & Dogs," “Stuart Little” I and II, "Frequency" and "Babe: Pig in the City."
