Engineers' Week 2006

SEAS students put forth a good deal of effort to make Engineers' Week 2006 a success. Engineers' Week is wholly planned and implemented by students, and this year's E-Week schedule was chock full of activities.

Students participated in a wide range of activities that began on Friday, February 17th with the first-ever Academic Technical Bowl -- a quiz game that tests engineering knowledge -- and ended on Friday, February 24th with the annual favorite, the Engineers' Ball. Other activities included a science fair, a popsicle bridge contest, a saltine challenge, a paper airplane contest, and an alumninum foil boat contest. Students also had several opportunities to join job and internship fairs and panel discussions on outsourcing and engineering careers and futures.

Following tradition, both student and faculty awards were presented at the Engineers' Ball. This year's professor of the year awards went to the following faculty members: Kim Roddis (Civil and Environmental Engineering); Michael Feldman (Computer Science); Shahrokh Ahmadi (Electrical and Computer Engineering): Richard Soland (Engineering Management and Systems Engineering); and Ryan Vallance (Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering). Student awards went to: Sarah Greenwood (Senior of the Year Award); John Kazmierczyk (Nut Award); and Kylee Rudd (Bolt Award). Congratulations to all our SEAS E-Week 2006 award winners.
