ECE Students Win Competitions
SEAS congratulates Ms. Kristin Pallister and Mr. Mazdak Taghioskoui, both students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, for their recent achievements.
Kristin Pallister is an undergraduate student who was recently awarded the Gamow Undergraduate Research Fellowship. The Gamov Fellowships are awarded to the most academically talented GW undergraduates and are designed to help develop the next generation of scholars and researchers by giving them opportunities to participate in mentored research with a faculty member.
Mazdak Taghioskoui, a graduate student, has won the 2008 WSE/YEP (Washington Society of Engineers/Young Engineer Prize) and the DCCEAS (District of Columbia Council of Engineering and Architectural Societies) College Student Paper Competitions. Taghioskoui won the first-prize award for both competitions with his paper, “Development of a Miniature Instrument for Detection of Trace Molecular Species on Mars.”
