The IELP is a four-year undergraduate engineering program that provides the opportunity to continue on to a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree at GW's Law School. Students admitted to this highly competitive program engage in regular seminars during the semester, and may participate in an internship at the United States Patent Office in the summer between their junior and senior years. Students who apply to the GW Law School will be admitted to the J.D. program if they have maintained a 3.25 GPA and have the required LSAT (Law School Admission Test) score. A special supplementary application is requested and is available in the GW application package.
This is a three-year course of study in social sciences, humanities, mathematics, physics, and chemistry at a participating institution, followed by a two-year program at SEAS. It culminates in a bachelor of arts or bachelor of science from the first institution and a bachelor of science in engineering or computer science from SEAS. The participating institutions are:
