Professor Azim Eskandarian
Azim Eskandarian is a professor in both the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and
the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
His research applies the tools of dynamics, control systems, and computational mechanics
to automobile engineering and transportation safety, among other areas.
As the founder of the GW Center for Intelligent
Systems Research and the co-founder of the National Crash Analysis Center and the GW transportation safety and
security area of excellence, Professor Eskandarian is a key architect of the university's
transportation safety research program.
