GW's School of Engineering and Applied Science offers more than 20 different graduate programs throughout its five departments. Graduate degrees at the master's, professional, and doctoral levels, as well as the graduate certificate, are offered with a variety of areas of focus. If you are interested in pursuing a degree-level (MS, professional, or PhD) program in one of the Graduate Certificate areas, please see the notes below to find out which degree program you should apply for.
(MS, PhD, and professional degrees)
Biomedical Engineering (MS only)
Civil and Environmental Engineering
Computer Engineering
Computer Science
Cyber Security (MS only)
Electrical Engineering
Engineering Management
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Systems Engineering
Telecommunications and Computers (MS only)
A graduate certificate program is essentially half of an MS program; students who successfully complete a graduate certificate program then have the option to transfer their credits into one of our MS programs. Similarly, MS students can earn a graduate certificate in parallel with their master's degree. Students in either situation must work closely with their academic advisors to ensure they are enrolling in the proper classes to meet the requirements of both the graduate certificate and the MS.
Please note that visa-seeking international students may not enroll in a graduate certificate program.
If you are interested in pursuing any of the following programs at the degree (MS, PhD, or professional degrees), please see the note under each to know which degree program above to apply to. Contact the admissions office with questions.
