SEAS Students Inducted into the Order of the Engineer
On Friday, May 12th the Engineers' Council (E-Council), the Engineer Alumni Association (EAA), and SEAS hosted the 2006 Order of the Engineer Induction Ceremony and reception at Alumni House. Approximately 40 people were in attendance to honor the 20 SEAS students and three SEAS alumni who were inducted into the Order that evening.
"The guest speaker at the ceremony was Poh C. Chua (BS'88; JD'97), a senior associate at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LL. Poh and his wife, Claire, were also among those inducted into the Order. Dr. Richard Soland, the acting associate dean for SEAS, spoke to those gathered about the obligations of membership in the Order and then presented a certificate and ring to each inductee.
The evening also included a dessert reception and a toast to new members by Kim Kessler, the programs chair of the EAA, and Sara Cornell, the E-Council president.
