Applying for the Programs -- tips and tricks

Master of Science -- Doctor of Science

First and foremost, use the online application interface to apply -- it can't be lost in the mail or set aside by accident. Please note that the interface is optimized for Internet Explorer 5 or above on Windows machines. It will perform reluctantly with Netscape 6 and above, and even more reluctantly with Macintoshs. Javascript must be enabled. The interface is secured, so you don't have to worry very much about the privacy of your data (although keep in mind nothing is one hundred percent secure).

You do not need to complete the application at one sitting. You will be asked to create a user account, which you can then use to incrementally work on your application package as you have time.

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!

Please request official copies of your transcripts from other universities be sent just as soon as possible. That traditionally has been a hold up in the process. The sooner you can get that going, the better off you will be. The instructions on how to request official transcripts are included in the on-line application interface, including the addresses to which the transcripts should be sent.

You will be asked to identify an intended semester of entry. This may be changed after you are admitted but only if you contact the admissions department and request the change. Don't simply not register for classes in your identified semester of entry -- the University will interpret your absence as having decided not to come at all.
