He is currently one of the contenders vying for the Republican nomination for President. Congressman Hunter’s official presidential website does not indicate any particular policy position relating to emergency management. Search results from his official House of Representatives webpage additionally result in a limited number of press releases. Since 1998, his website only includes 12 press releases related to emergency management. These press releases are regarding wild fires, two grants for fire-related services, storm damage and Hurricane Katrina,. His press releases have generally included the phone numbers of specific individuals to call for further assistance. Further internet searches resulted in limited finds concerning Congressman Hunter and his policy position on emergency management. Based on his congressional homepage, his legislative priority efforts have included conservative social issues, Department of Defense matters, tax reductions and the construction of a fence along the border of the southern U.S. and Mexico. |
