CS211: Advanced Computer Architecture

Homeworks and Projects. Fall 2008

Homeworks and Projects

There will be a number of homeworks and programming projects. The projects will require the use of the simplescalar processor simulator (using the PISA processor option). Projects will be assigned to 2 or 3 person teams. However, the final project will require each team member to write their own analysis -- i.e., the experiments can be conducted jointly but each student must conduct their own analysis. Each homework will consist of questions that will be graded, and in some cases they may contain that will not be graded (these questions are meant to give you some additional 'practice problems'). You cannot collaborate on the homework questions that will be graded; but you can collaborate on the questions that will not be graded. Late homeworks will be penalized -- you lose 15% of the grade for each day that you are late in submission. Once solutions are posted, you cannot submit your homework.   Since homeworks count towards your final total, you should plan on submitting your homeworks -- failure to do so is an invitation to a bad grade!

For submissions, you should use Blackboard to submit electronically  only - no hardcopy submissions will be accepted.

There is no collaboration, of any sort, allowed on the homeworks. However, you may collaborate on the practice problems only.
