V. Consulting Experience:


1972-74:
National Statistical Service of Greece, Athens, Greece: setting up, reorganizing and improving the operation of the EDP Computer Center.
1975-81:
Naval Research Center, Hellenic Navy, Athens, Greece: Worked as a consultant and group leader on advanced Naval applications of digital systems, communications, computers, and command and control systems. Evaluated military equipment, computer-based command and control systems, and computer automation techniques.
1980:
On the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Telecommunication Organization (the Greek "BELL/AT&T" telephone company).
1979-83:
European Common Market: Representative of Greece's ministry of industry to the Common Market's committees (in Brussels) responsible for the long-range planning for research and development projects in the community countries. Decisions on the projects for which RFPs would be prepared and evaluations of received proposals.
1975-94:
Participated in a number of RFP preparations and in evaluating contract proposals. Performed mediations and expert witness tasks. Prepared the technical specs of large computer centers. Prepared the technical specs for a computerized medical system (administrative and patient file components) for the Onassis Cardiac Center. Consulted for various foreign Universities on computer science curriculum alternatives and in selecting faculty for Computer Science Depts. Data base conversions, scanner drivers, unix/windows LAN interconnections, windows-based user interfaces, etc. Seminars, short courses, invited talks on microprocessor-based systems and high-performance computer systems.
